Crematory Annual Report

Reminder

Due January 30, 2026

Texas Funeral Service Commission (TFSC) would like to remind all  Crematory establishments to submit their annual report to TFSC. The report should cover the period from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.

Crematories can submit their annual report through the Online Licensing System.

Texas Occupations Code, Section651.658, CREMATORY ESTABLISHMENT LICENSE RENEWAL AND ANNUAL REPORT; PENALTY.

T.O.C. 651.658 requires all crematories to report to the Texas Funeral Service Commission, NO LATER than January 30th every year, in writing, an annual report of the total number of cremations performed for the prior calendar year (January 1-December 31).

The Commission rules state, “[A] $100.00 late fee will be imposed for EACH day a crematory fails to submit the annual report.” 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Holiday Office Closure

The Texas Funeral Service Commission office will be closed on Wednesday, December 24th, through Friday December 26th, in observance of the Christmas Holidays. The office will reopen Monday, December 29th, at 8:00 A.M.CST

In addition, the Commission will also be closed on Thursday, January 1st, and Friday, January 2, in observance of the New Year's HolidayThe office will reopen Monday, January 5th at 8:A.M. CST

Per Texas Occupations Code Code §651establishment owners and all license holders are now required to undergo a background check  as part of the Funeral Establishment, Provisional, and Individual licensing process.

Resolving Concerns

Concerns about TFSC services should be submitted in writing to the Executive Director, the agency’s customer service representative. If unresolved, the matter may be referred to the Commissioners for further review.

OPEN MEETINGS

The TFSC meets quarterly.  The Commission conducts these meetings in Austin, Texas, at the George H. W, Bush Building, unless advised otherwise. Once posted, TFSC meeting agendas may be found by clicking on the following website: Texas Secretary of State Open Meetings.
