Anatomical Specimen Transfer Process
In accordance with 22 Tex. Admin. Code § 206.5, all requests to transfer anatomical specimens must receive prior authorization from the Texas Funeral Service Commission (TFSC).
Entities seeking to receive, handle, or use decedent donors must submit a completed Authorization Application with the required fee. For expedited processing, payment may be sent via overnight delivery.
Transfer Approval Requirements:
- Submit a completed Transfer of Specimen Request Form
- Email all materials to anatomical@tfsc.texas.gov
- Ensure requests are submitted at least seven (7) days prior to the scheduled event
- Provide all required consent forms before approval can be granted
Submission of transfer requests to any email address other than anatomical@tfsc.texas.gov may result in processing delays.
